The Malay Heritage Centre involves the restoration of Istana Kampong Gelam and its conversion into a museum as well as the construction of ancillary blocks in the compound to house other facilities such as staff offices, workshop areas, a resource centre and a multi-purpose hall.
It also includes the restoration of the neighbouring Gedung Kuning building and its transformation into a thematic restaurant, equipped with a viewing gallery.
OUR FACILITIES FOR RENTAL
The Centre sits on 2 acres of beautifully-landscaped grounds, with the historic Istana Kampong Gelam and Gedung Kuning (yellow mansion) as its focal points. Apart from the culture, heritage and history-related programmes, we also offer rental of spaces within the premise for hosting of events and programmes, scented with the Istana 's ambience of royal grandeur.
