 Among all the other martial arts form, Silat
 is known to be one of the most graceful
 form of self defense. Look out for special
 demonstrations of Silat Seni by the
 Silat experts. 


 Performances by Seligi Tunggal Kemuning and
 Kembang Wali.

 

 Arts and Crafts Workshop for Youth

 Cultural Hall

 The demonstration cum workshop invites
 youth to a hands-on experience on how to
 prepare 'Sireh Rampai' (Betel leaves), 
 Ketupat weaving, 'Bunga Manggar', and
 art of decorative handkerchief folding.

 Six finalists left to compete for the top prize and a chance to
 represent Singapore in a regional traditional song singing
 competition in Kuala Lumpur. A special collaboration with

 Something for the poetry lovers. With guest poet
 from Malaysia, Khalid Salleh, this poetry recital
 will also feature local poets such as Djamal Tukimin,

 Bangsawan - Sang Rajuna Tapa

 Bangsawan is a form of theatre that has the characteristics
 of a Persian theatre called 'Wayang Parsi'. It is also closely
 related to the Western Opera after much influence from the west.

 For this festival, Sri Anggerik Bangsawan group will be presenting
 a special Bangsawan showcase - Sang Rajuna Tapa for the
 Bangsawan enthusiasts!

 Come witness this rare theatre performance!

 Catch Zubir Abdullah and Hariani
 Hassan Bakri belt out traditional
 tunes accompanied by both local
 and foreign musicians.

 Swatari is a dance group based in KL
 usually accompanies the musical group called Pak Ngah
 productions. This group is known for its traditional and
 contemporary dance choreography led by Mohd Zulfarkar.



 Pak Ngah is a renowned music composer and director.
 His music ensemble together with the Swatari dance
 group has performed at various local and international
 events including Siti Nurhaliza's wedding.

 Also don't miss The Best Dressed Kids' Competition.

 'Memories' features an evening of contemporary dance by
 10 Sri Warisan's choreographers exploring the Malay Heritage
 Centre's site specific as performance space for their expressions.

 Lagenda Radin Mas
 8.00pm - 9.30pm
 Cultural Hall


 An excerpt of Lagenda Radin Mas which will be performed
 in March 2008. According to legend, Radin Mas Ayu was a
 princess of the Javanese Royal Court. After her mother was
 murdered, she fled Java for Singapore with her father, the
 crown prince.
 
 Various Indonesian artistes will be participating in this
 special performance including:-

 1) Sukardi Sriman who is currently lecturing at University
      of Malaya.
 
 2) Mas Bimo who is well known for his collaborative works
      combining oriental Japanese with Indonesian classical
      dance movement.

 3) Murah Mansyah - a Sri Warisan resident instructor from
      Jakarta.

 4) Special guest Indonesian artiste, who is residing in
      Singapore, Wellas Subagyo. He is the choreographer
      for Kampong collection at Malay Village Geylang Serai.
